The Global Incubation Committee (GIC) is an initiative of the IEEE Computer Society, built as an exclusive startup pitching competition for AICSSYC, followed by a dedicated incubation ecosystem to solve real problems for the 70–80% of the world's population who are typically underserved by mainstream innovation — marginalised communities, underserved regions, and overlooked markets.
GIC exists to close two gaps at once: the gap between research and real-world impact, and the gap between prototype and startup — the exact point where most founders are left to fend for themselves. We stay with founders through both.
Whether the solution is a hardware device, a software platform, or a hardware + software system, GIC provides the mentorship, technical guidance, and structured support to take it from a bold idea to a sustainable, scalable venture with genuine social impact.

The inaugural edition of the Global Incubation Committee (GIC) marks a significant milestone in fostering social enterprise-driven, innovation-led entrepreneurship within the IEEE Computer Society ecosystem. GIC is an exclusive startup pitching competition for AICSSYC 2026. The top 10 teams will be called in to AICSSYC for pitching their ideas live before an expert panel, after which they will receive the dedicated incubation support they need.
